Life Group Questions

  1. Life Groups are not meeting this Tuesday and Wednesday. We are going to OB One at 6:30pm to pack Christmas Boxes to Operation Christmas Child. For more info go to  http://54.189.185.79/occ
  2. Would you please email your life group and let them know the info above?

If for some reason you need the Life Group Questions, here they are:

1.     How did this sermon speak to you?
2.     Read Romans 5:2; Romans 12:12; 2 Corinthians 3:12; Acts 2:26.  Do you boast in the hope of God?  Are you bold in hope?  Do you rest and are full of joy in hope in Christ?  Why or why not?
3.     Read Hebrews 6:16-18.  How does the two unchangeable things (God’s purpose & that He does not lie), encourage you?  Why should it?
4.     How does the fact that God does not lie or change His purpose line up with the fact that we have all felt like our prayers have gone unanswered or the answer was no.  Since the answer to our prayers is sometimes “no” should we be scared to trust and hope in God?
5.     Read Hebrews 6:19.  What are you placing your hope in?  What is the anchor of your soul? Is it money, relationships, job?  Is your hope diversified (meaning spread out in many different areas or is it solely in Christ)?  Why does God want to be the only place you place your hope?
6.     God promises to be our anchor of our soul that does not fail.  The truth is that we want a helicopter not an anchor, meaning we want Jesus to take us out of our difficult times not stay with us in the midst of the difficult times.  Why doesn’t God zap us out of all of our hard times?  Read James 1:2-4.
7.     Read Hebrews 6:11-12.  Why did the author of Hebrews warn the Christians in the first century to not be “lazy” but diligent?  How is that relevant to us today?
8.     Some of you may be in the midst of a storm right now.  You may have taken your eyes off of Christ and feel lost.  Perhaps you are considering placing your hope in something other than Christ.  Share with each other what is going on in your life and encourage each other on how God is the hope that does not fail.  Pray for each and bare each other’s burdens.
